Leave the bandage on for 2–4 hours after your session.
Wash your hands, then gently remove the bandage and wash the tattoo with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.
Pat dry with a clean towel—don’t rub.
Once the tattoo is dry, apply a thin layer of unscented ointment (like Aquaphor or A&D) for the first few days.
After 3–4 days, switch to a fragrance-free lotion as the tattoo starts to peel and flake.
Do not pick, scratch, or soak your tattoo (no swimming, hot tubs, or baths) for at least two weeks.
Keep it out of direct sunlight and avoid tight clothing over the area until healed.
Your artist may apply a protective adhesive film after your tattoo session. Keep this first layer on for 24 hours unless instructed otherwise.
After removing the initial film, wash the tattoo gently with warm water and mild soap, pat it dry, and apply a new clean sheet of Saniderm or Second Skin.
This second bandage can stay on for 3–5 days. It acts as a barrier against bacteria while letting your skin breathe and heal naturally.
If the bandage fills with fluid, peels up, or causes irritation, remove it early, clean the tattoo, and switch to the traditional method of healing.
Once the bandage comes off, wash gently and apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer as needed.
Modern film healing can speed up recovery and reduce scabbing—but it’s important to follow instructions and use only clean, high-quality products.
